Alluminium complexes for biomedical applications
Beranová, Tereza ; Kubíček, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Havlíček, David (referee)
The aim of this work was to prepare ligands of macrocycle TACN with aminophosphinate pendant arms. Two ligands were prepared and fully characterized. A complex of aluminium ion was synthesized with one of the ligand. The complex was used for studying a fluoride coordination by a fluoride ion selective electrode. Key words: macrocyclic complex, positron emission tomography, phosphinic acid
TACN derivatives bearing aminophosphinate pendant arms
Beranová, Tereza ; Kubíček, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Němec, Ivan (referee)
The aim of this work was studying of the coordination properties of TACN macrocyclic derivatives with aminophosphinate pendant arms. Two ligands were prepared, one with two pendant arms NODPam and one with three pendant arms NOTPam. Because of degradation of ligand NODPam during its synthesis, only the ligand NOTPam was studied further. Acid-base properties of ligand and termodynamic stability of aluminium and gallium complexes were studied. Formation and disociation studies were performed with the complexes. Coordination of fluoride ions to aluminium complex was studied using ion selective fluoride electrode. Finally coordination of complex AlFx with ligand NOTPam was studied using 19F and 27Al NMR spectroscopy. Selected experiments were made also with ligand NOTA. Key words: macrocyclic complexes, positron emission tomography, phosphinic acids
Radiolabeling of aluminum and gallium complexes with radioisotope 18F
Kuncová, Lucie ; Kubíček, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Vojtíšek, Pavel (referee)
The most widely used emitter in positron emission tomography is the fluorine isotope 18 F, which can bind to a number of atoms, and thus allows the formation of imaging agents for positron emission tomography. This work will summarize methods for labeling complexes containing aluminum or gallium as a central cation, which can serve as stable carriers of the positron emitter in a human body. Both of these elements have unique physical and chemical properties suitable for molecular imaging. Therefore the development of complex labeling, their structure, coordination environment and some applications in nuclear medicine will be described here.
Coordination properties of NOTA monoamide
Kubinec, Jan ; Kubíček, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Matulková, Irena (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to prepare monoamide of macrocycle NOTA, which was successfully prepared and fully characterized. Acid-base properties were investigated by potentiometric titration and four protonation constants were found, which are lower than pKa ` s of NOTA ligand. Coordination properties with selected ions from the first row of transition metals were investigated. Stability constants of studied complexes are also lower than the same complexes with NOTA ligand. Key words: macrocyclic complexes, positron emission tomography, thermodynamic stability, formation kinetic, radiopharmaceuticals

Effect of New Positron Radiopharmaceutical Shielding Equipment on Radiation Load Reduction of PET Centre Personnel.
MAŇASOVÁ, Olga
The bachelor thesis focuses on radiation protection of nuclear medicine personnel while using positron radiopharmaceuticals. The thesis is aimed at evaluating efficient and equivalent doses of PET centre personnel at Na Homolce Hospital where new shielding equipment with an activity dosing device was installed in 2006. Positron radiopharmaceuticals are characterized by emission of 2 annihilation gamma photons of high energy (511 keV) that are created upon interaction of a positron with an electron. Due to the high energies, radiological personnel receives higher radiation loads than upon application of common, particularly technecium-based radiopharmaceuticals used in nuclear medicine. The methodology consists in comparing efficient and equivalent doses before and after installation of the new shielding equipment. On base of results we can state that the doses to personnel were significantly reduced after installation of new shielding equipment. The doses were reduced by half during three years. New shielding is relevant from optimalization of radiation protection perspective. Statistical processing and graphic illustrations form part of the bachelor thesis.
